Is this really necessary? Who would check their Facebook while they’re driving? Or better yet, who would rather check their Facebook than know where they’re going?

Avatar’s Blu-Ray release is having issues with it’s playback.

Many outraged customers came forward this week claiming that their Blu-Ray copies of Avatar won’t play in their players. Keep in mind that both of these items were bought LEGALLY. Come to find out that the geniuses at Fox are trying a new form of DRM (Digital Rights Management) on this release, in an effort to eliminate the number of “illegal” rips. The only problem is, this new codec is not compatible with many blu-Ray players. This has many people upset at the fact that they can’t even watch their movie all because Fox wants to keep people from ripping it onto their iPod for vacations. Ironically though, Avatar has already become the most pirated Blu-Ray movie of all time, since the first one, Ice Age 2, appeared online back in ‘07. Avatar was downloaded over 200,000 times in one day in the blu-ray format, which apparently doesn’t even touch the number of regular DVD downloads, probably because of the huge file size (22GB). It also has the highest download rate (how fast it downloads) of any recent torrent. Most of the downloads were tracked overseas, which makes sense because Avatar’s release elsewhere was later than the US’s.

So everyone, make sure to see if your Blu-Ray player is compatible if you plan on getting Avatar. I personally am waiting for the 3D Blu-Ray version coming this fall :)

Luckily, I already have Avatar on my iPad. Take that corporate greed!!

Government agencies are considering making toys in kids meals illegal in an effort to fight childhood obesity.

The first thought that came to my mind was “Why didn’t we do this before?” then I remembered the only reason I even got kids meals back in the day was to get a toy. This new proposed law might actually do some good. Check out the full story:

Hello Super Bowl

Hello Super Bowl

Ghostbusters 3 rumors have been swirling since 2007. But Venkman himself Bill Murray recently put a temporary question mark on the sequel.

“It’s just a myth. It’s like the white alligator in the sewer, you know? Who’s seen it, really?”

“It’s just really the movie studio. They love the franchise, they’d just like to re-create it again. All this talk is just talk. It drives me nuts, it’s just people talking. And now, it’s like, on the street people go ‘hey, hey, hey,’ you know, why don’t you go back to high school? Quit bothering me. Until someone actually creates a great script it’s just hogwash, it doesn’t mean anything. It’s interesting that people are interested in it, they’d like to see it. It was a great thing, it really was fun. Maybe it should. And if it’s such a good idea, then someone will write the screenplay.”

Let’s hope a GOOD script gets written SOON before they’re all too old!

Project Natal coming Holday season 2010.

Microsoft’s latest and greatest creation to date is set to hit shelves this coming winter, and no one could be more excited than me. The programmers at Microsoft have spent the past 10 years or so perfecting their controller-less gaming system, dubbed “Project Natal”, and kept it secret for quite a while. I dont know how they did it. it is finally ready to come out. The demo video just makes my mouth water even more. Microsoft has set the bar so high with this system that I honestly don’t know how Nintendo and Sony are going to rebuttal. Check out the vid and put this on your list to Santa!
