Expectations were high for their next album, which they dubbed “Congratulations” and released the art, propelling the hype even further with their Sonic the Hedgehog-esqe tribute. Now I think most who have heard the record can agree with me when I say that it didn’t quite meet expectations. What people expected was more alternative rock anthems like “Kids” and “Time to Pretend.” instead, they gave them the latter…more chilled out “float away” album cut tracks that would be considered a great soundtrack to any Yoga workout or 3 hour layover at LAX when you just want to relax and let your mind wander aimlessly away from its normal routine. The musicianship can still not be denied. These guys are superstars.
